| Termites are found around the world chiefly in the tropics and sub tropics between about 50 degrees north and south of the equator but most of the serious activity is between 35 degrees north and south. The biggest limiting factor is ability to survive the cold of winter, hence in Toronto and Hamburg the availability of nicely heated houses helps expand the normal range. Global warming will mean major changes in termite distribution and greatly increased risk factors in many regions.
